The authorities in the UAE have come out with the guidelines for pilgrims planning to do the Umrah. In the wake of the pandemic and its subsequent precautions and restrictions, all UAE residents and citizens travelling to Saudi Arabia will have to follow these guidelines for safe travel and pilgrimage.
Residents of UAE are required to get an Umrah visa which shall be issued by the Saudi Arabian Embassy in UAE.
Only those UAE residents and citizens are permitted to travel for Umrah who fall under the age group specified by Saudi Arabian authorities. The permitted age limit is between 18-50. Travellers must also carry a negative PCR test taken less than 72 hours before departure from UAE.
Online reservation is mandatory for all pilgrims who wish to perform Umrah. The reservation should be done on ‘Eatmarna’ app which is released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Tawakkalna app should also be downloaded before you arrive in Saudi Arabia.
A 3-day quarantine period is mandatory once you reach Saudi Arabia. Confirmed Hotel confirmations for this period should be done in advance. Pilgrims coming from the UAE and other countries should also have confirmed transportation arrangements to the hotel. Health insurance is compulsory for the pilgrims.
